Merry Christmas

This is my favorite Christmas Song. I thought that I would share it history and lyrics.

O Holy Night Lyrics:
The words and lyrics of the old carol 'O Holy Night' were written by Placide Cappeau de Roquemaure in 1847. Cappeau was a wine seller by trade but was asked by the parish priest to write a poem for Christmas. He obliged and wrote the beautiful words of the hymn. He then realised that it should have music to accompany the words and he approached his friend Adolphe Charles Adams(1803-1856). He agreed and the music for the poem was therefore composed by Adolphe Charles Adams. Adolphe had attended the Paris conservatoire and forged a brilliant career as a composer. It was translated into English by John Sullivan Dwight (1812-1893). Our grateful thanks goes to Eric Halstead for giving his kind permission to play his self sequenced midi file of this superb piano rendition of this Christmas Carol.

O Holy Night Lyrics Christmas Carol Lyrics
O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining, It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth. Long lay the world in sin and error pining. Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices! O night divine, the night when Christ was born; O night, O Holy Night , O night divine! O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
Led by the light of faith serenely beaming, With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand. O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming, Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient land. The King of kings lay thus lowly manger; In all our trials born to be our friends. He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger, Behold your King! Before him lowly bend! Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!
Truly He taught us to love one another, His law is love and His gospel is peace. Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother. And in his name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, With all our hearts we praise His holy name. Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we, His power and glory ever more proclaim! His power and glory ever more proclaim!
There are many versions of this song, but my favorite by far is the versison that Martina McBride sings. It will give you goose bumps.
What is your favorite song?

Never say Never....

Becuase you might be driving a minivan. I must admit that I was not the fan of the minivan or vans in general since we had a bad van wreck as a child, but I love my new to me minivan.

We have all been SICK SICK SICK. Yin has had fever, runny nose, and a cough. My throat is on fire and my gland hurts horribly, but tomorrow is another day hopefully we will all be better.

We had Christmas yesterday with my Gramma Mick. A wonderful time was had by all. We have had a least two get togethers everyday since Wednesday, but today we have NOTHING! YEAH!

We we to the bigger town to drive the kids through the park for the third time. We love the light.

Well off to bed soon Santa is coming.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Family Fun with Friends

Yesterday we spent a good portion of the day Geocaching with Ed and Wana Wana. We started out the trip a little slow and got ran off of some land at a public bird sancutary, but soon we were on our way. Rudy bought a new program for the GPS. You are supposed to be able to enter in caches and it plan a route for you to take. We are still not sure what was going on with that thing. It tried to take us to a cache ten miles away instead of one that was 1 1/2 miles away??

On our trip we enjoyed taking our little car over a "low" water crossing, thru a field, and the backing way up becuase there was an even "deeper" low water crossing. Ed followed right behind in his brand new HHR. Talking about breaking a car in, we were probably on 40 miles of gravel roads yesterday.

A good time was had by all, but the best in when I got in the trunk of our car to attempt to open a cache container. I have never been in the trunk of a car. I guess I can cross that off the to do list. We also enjoyed the fun of driving off without Rudy a few times at one of the caches. Yin and Yuri were giggling like crazy.

We came home with 25 or 26 caches completed and a few to try for again. Yuri was very good at finding caches yesterday, as he came up with 5 finds! Tonight we are going to a Pizza party with many of the local cachers. I am sure that we will have a great time. Tonights party will be cache #800.

Rudy has some vacation in a week or so and we are thinking we might go hit somemore caches, since we had such a good time!

It 2 am... I must be lonely

Yeah, you read the time right. We had a very nice evening out with Pilot and Needles. We went for Chinese, through the big Christmas light display, and then to the local coffee shop. Rudy and I had never been before so we were in for a treat. Yin and Yuri were both VERY well behaved. Personally, I think that Aliens overtook their little bodies, but I am not going to complain.

We got home around 8:30 and Yin wanted to watch Tubbies... Whoever invented Teletubbies should have to suffer the worst Hell imaginable. They are the WORST. Barney I can handle, Dora I like, and The Wiggles are great. The Teletubbies do not speak clearly they talk in some sort of baby-evil-makes-me-want-to-kill voice. Why would creaters make a show that encourages kids to talk like that!!!! Guess you can tell that I don't like the Tubbies.

Well... 9pm phone rings. Rudy's work again. So off he goes, to provide for his family. I know that I say this ALOT, but I am so grateful to be home with Yin and Yuri, and to be so well provided for Farmwife can probably really relate. Sometimes I feel guilty for being at home with the kids. Especially, when "friends" call on the phone and say I don't do anything, but that is a whole other post.

After Rudy leaves I decide to settle in with my book. DOPE! It is a murder mystery suspense filled Novel, and here it is 2 am and I can't go to sleep becuase I Brando Bloggins am the biggest Chicken in the WORLD. I wish my imagination didn't work so well... Maybe I should just go and try to finish the book, but I know that it is going to get worse before it gets better.

Sorry for the bad grammar, but it is 2 am. Okay, you guys all know that I have bad grammar. Going to try and go back to bed.!

I'm under your spell.

Last night was one of Rudy's work parties. Due to the large number of employees and schedules they have three parties and you pick the one you want to attend. Usually they are finger foods, drinking, smoke, and a LOUD band. Well, this year they had two parties like this and they had one party that was a buffett dinner and a hypnotist. This is the party that we chose to attend.

The food was very good. Next we settled in for the entertainment. It was VERY difficult for him to get volunteers. Finally, he ended up getting 7 or 8. We have been to the The Raven two times and it was great, but people WANTED to be hypnotized. He had 25-30 volunteers so the people that we most suggestive were up there.

So he began to put the people under, I noticed myself looking away and concentrating on not trying to concentrate. Eventually, the people who were the most susceptible were left, and that was two people. He made them do crazy things like slay dragons, get bit by chairs, and sing like Britney Spears. All in all it was pretty entertaining. I really wish that Rudy would have went up there, but he had not interest. Rudy asked why I didn't go. He could not have blasted my but out of that Chair with a ton of Dynomite.

We returned home areound 9:20. Rudy's work had called twice and since only Rudy and Mei Mei's Daddy know how to do that job one of them had to go back. Well Mei Mei's daddy had drank a few beers so... Rudy went back to work. Their empolyer is very strick and it would not at all be safe for MMD to go. He got home at Midnight and was going back again at 6am. Four trips to his work town in 24 hours is ALOT.

Do you think that you could be hypnotized? I often wonder if I can if I let myself try.

80 & 2

Yesterday, I took my 80 year old gram and my two year old Yin to the doctor. Gram had an appointment and need someone to drive her. Here are a few things that I observed from the day.

80 year old Grams have no business climbing into my blazer while 2 year olds can climb anything.

80 year old Grams will let you open the door for them while 2 year olds want to do it themselves.

80 year old Grams get no stickers at the doctors office while 2 year olds get 6 stickers.

80 year old Grams need to be pushed in a wheelchair around the hospital while 2 year olds want to run free.

80 year old Grams forget things while 2 year olds remember me saying something about the Teletubies from 3 weeks ago.

80 year old Grams and 2 year olds both have problems in telling their ages.

80 year old Grams tell you the same thing three times and 2 year olds tell you the same thing 20 times.

80 year old Grams look cute holding 2 year old kids hand in the parking lot.

I am so very blessed to have this Gram in my life, as my other Gram passes away 3 1/2 years ago. I sat in the living room watching my Gram and my daughter eat after I had fixed their plates. Sometimes life is really good. It was a pain to try and take Gram and Yin both, but in the end it was all worth the effort just watching them together.

Who really learned the lesson???

Yin is really good at going to bed and she loves for me to tell her stories. I was having a really difficult time trying to continually come up with stories that I liked and that were not to long. So I invented new stories.... They are called "The stories of Princess Yin and Princess Boots". Boots is the monkey from Dora the Explorer.

Anyway, these are lesson stories. Yesterday, Yin did not want to help pick up her room so... Here is last nights story.

Once upon a time there were two princesses. Princess Yin and Princess Boots. Everyday they would play in their play room and make a big mess. One day the Queen Mother ( sound like anyone we know), came into the room and asked PY and PB to please pick up their room. They responded "NO" and the QM, cleaned the room. The next day it was the same thing... NO and the next day NO.... On the forth day the QM asks them to pick up and they do not. Finally, the QM takes all of the toys away, each and every last toy. PY and PB were very, very sad...

At this point in the story Yin's lip is sticking out. In a little voice, she said " Me sad, mommy". I told her I was sad too.

Well, the next day the QM comes into the playroom and askes if they would like a toy. YES YES they replied. QM gave each of the kids a toy as long as the promised to put it away at the end of the day. Sure enough at the end of the day the put the toys away. Everyday after that the QM would ask and they would put their toys away until they had all of their toys back.

Well by this time Yin was grinning like the Chesser Cat...

The princesses were so glad to have their toys back that they picked up each and every night without the QM telling them to pick up, and all was right in the land.

I am a super mom, I thought, I have invented a way to tell stories with lessons!!! I am a genuis.
I look down at Yin's sweet little angel face and kiss her snow. She looks at me with those big brown eyes and says " Mommy me pick up..... NO!" Then giggles her little giggle. UGH!

Okay, she is smarter than me! Lesson learned!
