My Best Present-

As it approaches my B'day and I become a year older than my dear Rudy, I have reflected back to what was my BEST b'day present.

January 27, 2005... I was driving on my way to work. I was running late and Lisa had just called to ask if I wanted a Diet Coke. I was at the 4-way stop in B'port and the phone rang. Whose number is that? My heart began to pound as my mind recognized the number.

Caller: Brandy
Me: Yes
Caller: I have some news for you. (At this point my heart is beating out of my chest.)
Me: Okay...
Caller: You can pick you daughter up on Tuesday (at this point I am crying and have to pull of the road)

Even as I type this it brings tears to my eyes.

Yin has really been a blessing into our lives. She is always keeps us on our toes.

Tomorrow I am going with Hope to the big city to the north. We are going to look at yarn, used books, and scrapbooking stuff. After that my mom is making me dinner of all my favorites Meatloaf, fried potatos, and lima beans. I know I am weird. Then we are going to a wedding reception with the kids. It will be a BUSY day!

I am not sure what happened to the rest of my post?/

So grateful she is NOT Twins.

I love Yin, but holy cow that girl has too much energy sometimes. In the last 20 mintues, I found a chocolate cover long john that she "hide" under the couch pillow for later, cleaned up a bowl of Red Jello that she dumped in the floor, and then discovered that she had run off with the cleaning supplies! YIKES!!!!

She has alot of extra engery today! Yuri received his report card last week and he did very well his lowest grade was a 94 in reading and his highest was a 103 in Social Studies. I was disappointed to see that our school does straight grades so if you get an A+, A, or A-... You get an A. This is the same for the other letter grades. I do not like this system at all. Maybe if I was on the A- end I might.

Yin is still saying that she is ready to go school, but is showing very little interest in the potty. She will get it in time.

They have a quiz for everything.

What Your Bathroom Habits Say About You
You are a giving soul. Way too giving in fact. You often get stuck doing the dirty work that no one else will do.

You spend a lot on clothes, and you tend to be a very dresser. However, it's hard for you to throw away trendy clothes when they go out of style.

You have the perfect blend of confidence and class. You're proud of who you are - but you don't broadcast it.

In relationships, you tend to be very romantic and demanding. You'll treat your partner like gold, but you expect a lot in return.

My song

Your 1996 Theme Song Is: Breakfast at Tiffany's by Deep Blue Something
And I said "What about Breakfast at Tiffany's?"
She said, "I think I remember the film,
And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it."
And I said, "Well, that's the one thing we've got."

I did like this song in 1996.

American Idol Tonight

All in all, it seems that the parts they showed that the Judges seemed to have some restraint. Giving honest responses for their No's. Simon did not seem his normal self. There was the Good, the Bad, and the UGLY.

Tomorrow is another day and another city... We will see.

Tonight's the NIGHT!!!

Yeah! American Idol starts tonight!!!! Are you ready Cynical? I know that not many people share our love for the American Idol. Yuri is beside himself with excitement and demanded that I turn it on now! Silly boy knows that you have to wait for shows to come on TV.

Rudy has his first offical Meeting tonight, so I am home with the Demons... I mean, wonderul child that I have been blessed with. Today I went thru Yin's closet and put away most of the super heavy winter stuff. Yeah, on the closet day of the winter so far??? I also put up all of her summer stuff. She has the BEST closet in our whole house.

Why you ask did I do this now??? I needed her to try on all of last years summer to see if it fit or not so that I can sell it on ebay. The end of January and month of February are the BEST times for her nicer summer items. The stuff that is okay is going either to the Garage Sale or in my Garage Sale.

Yuri was home sick again today fever and vomiting. I only have one sick one unlike Farmwife. Pray for her and her kiddos.

Right now we are enjoying Star Trek Voyager. I know, I know, but Janeway kicks butt! She is by far the most superior Captain on ANY of the shows!! Could be because she is a WOMAN. Hee Hee.

For my Trekkies, who is your favotire Character Man and Woman. I bet there are a lot of 7 of 9 fans out there. Right boys?

Mine are Q and B'Ellana Torres. I told Rudy we should have name Yin B'Ellana. I have taken to calling her that and she will say "No, me Yin." Which is funny since real name is pretty close to B'Ellana.

COUNT DOWN TO IDOL ....Well I was going to put a really cool free timer here, but NOPE! I can't find one that won't take me an hour to figure out how to use.

How I love Mrs. Bennet!

She has the BEST lines.

Here are a few:

Elizabeth Bennet: Mama, you mistake Mr. Darcy's meaning.
Mrs. Bennet: Do I? Do I? He seems to think the country nothing at all!
Elizabeth Bennet: Mama!
Mrs. Bennet: "Confined!" "Unvarying!" I would have him know we dine with four-and-twenty families!

Mrs. Bennet: "And Jane was SO admired"

Mrs. Bennet: Oh, fetch my smelling salts, I feel my faintness coming on me again.

Mrs. Bennet: Did you ever meet such a proud, disagreeable man?
Elizabeth Bennet: The very rich can afford to give offense wherever they go. We need not care for his good opinion.
Mrs. Bennet: No, indeed.
Elizabeth Bennet: Perhaps he is not so handsome after all...?
Mrs. Bennet: Indeed not. Quite ill-favored.

I love, love, love her! Her personality cracks me up! She is the Ultimate Drama Queen.

Oh, Rudy is off with Ed doing some caching in the rain. Ever since I took the quiz all I have wanted to watch is Pride and Prejudice. Yuri asked "What is it rated? Are there any fight scences?" Yes, but now what he is thinking of.

Mr. Darcy is such a snot at the dance, but alas, I love him still. Well only four more hours or so until Mr. Darcy dives into the lake!

AAHHHHHhhhhhhhhh! Now if I just had some ice cream right now would be a perfect moment in time.

Stole from Farmwife.

Jane Austen

I am Elinor Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

You are Elinor Dashwood of Sense & Sensibility! You are practical, circumspect, and discreet. Though you are tremendously sensible and allow your head to rule, you have a deep, emotional side that few people often see.

That Rotten Hope was Elizabeth Bennet! I LOVE Mr. Darcy..... Go crazy girls!

Got my ABC back!

Well last week Rudy was scrolling thru the channels and I saw ABC. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have my ABC back. I enjoy several shows on ABC!

I would love to post of other news, but I have NONE. My life is so very boring. I must admit that I am getting a little stir crazy. I have only been out of the house for a few hours since Saturday. Tomorrow Yin and I are getting out, if only to go for a short drive. Maybe that will lift my spirits some.

My house is clean and all of the laundry is done. I have been reading some books by Erica Spindler. They are pretty good and usually scare the beGeebees out of me.

Today I babysat for only Nephew. Yin did not want to share and all he wanted was to climb on everything. He is a very happy baby and at almost 8 months has much more control over motor functions. Yin could hardly stay in a sitting postion at this age. I am not sure about Yuri at 7 months, but he could sit and crawl when we got him. I bet only Nephew will be walking soon and then his parents will be doomed!

Rudy has two overnight trips not work trips fun trips planned in the next few months. I am going to have to find someone to watch these monsters and do a little planning of my own.

We have Pee in the Potty!

Yin peed in the Potty! Rudy offered her pop if she peed in the potty. She was sitting on her potty watching the Wiggles and Viola! I was so excited that I nearly peed myself!

After that she peed two times on the floor within ten minutes. I am not sure what that means. Does her little bladder not let it all out at one time? Since then she has been dry for an hour.

Going to try again tomorrow all day.

Potty Day was a bust!

Today was supposed to be the first day of the rest of Yin's life, but she refused to sit on the potty. What??? She LOVES to sit on the potty. I don't know maybe it was to much pressure for her. I had been talking and planning, but NOPE! No potty for you!

Oh well, maybe tomorrow. I will have to see about the moon phases.

English Please!!

I am all for equal employment, but please for the love of all that is Holy and good in the world, have customer service people that at LEAST understand English. You know the language of Americans. UUUGGGHH!!!

Today in an attempt to get a head start on our taxes. I bought turbo tax. We have used this program for the last 5 years. With two foreign adoption credits to work through you have to have a program or pay someone. The tax guy wanted $300 to do our taxes. Uh, Not only no, but He!! no! I refuse to pay someone when I can do this myself for less than $50 bucks.

Anywho...

A page came up with my activation code and a message that said "This code will be emailed to you" Please click here to close the window and continue. Click Click. Email. No activation code! What??? I call Intuit.

Me: "My name is Brando and when I purchased the program it indicated that the code would be mailed, but no code."

Person who needs to learn ENGLISH: " You need code?"

Me "YES, I NEED CODE."

PWNTLE: "What color you disc?"

Me: "Red."

PWNTLE: "Okay, me help you."

Me: "Okay"

PWNTLE: "What you need?"

ME: "MY ACTIVATION CODE!!!!"

No lie this went on for 20 minutes. Finally, he provided me with two new activation codes and neither work. Then he says that he can "no help me", and he asked that I call some other number. What a Pain in the A$$!

So I call new Nonenglish speaking guy and start all over. Finally, 15 minutes later he gets me a new code, and it works. That is when the Heavens opened and the Angels all began to sing "Hallelujah!"

The program is installing as we speak. YEAH!

New Nonenglish Speaking person who needs to learn English: "Me do good?"

Me: "Yes, Thanks!"

Happy new year ?

I can only say that I hope this year is better than the last.

Our family has had many health scares and enough is enough. We had a good visit with NeNe and Papa How. I got tons of cleaning items for Christmas. I can't wait to use my bleach pen. Please don't feel bad for me. I asked for this stuff. It is useful and I need nothing.

The kids ran like wild, staying up WAY past their bedtime. Almost ringing in the new year! All in all it was a very good trip.

We had a speedy trip home, only to find that Rudy's work had call about 12 times for him to come in. I guess they want him to sit by the phone in hopes that something will go wrong and he will be there. Who knows?

Well, I am making my new years resolution.

Declutter my life and home. I am going to be getting rid of TONS of things that I do not need.
1st on the list to go is a VERY nice Nikon SLR camera with a Huge lens and several filters. I am planning on trying to ebay this. It was VERY expensive and now is not something that we use at all. I will continue to post of things I am getting rid of.

Items moving down the road:

1 box of read books- Yeah!

Last week we cleaned out several boxes, but I am going to be brutal this next week. Maybe I can make some dough to help with the snowball outta debt plan. If we can lose some debt this year we would like to build an upstairs in our house in two years. Then we could move the kids upstairs and have a little more room around here.

Happy New Year!
