Prison Break -- High Alert!

Fugitive on the loose!

Last night as I was sleeping, my spider sense began to tingle something was amiss. As I lay there I looked around the room. Some was was in my bedroom! I sat up suddenly and there was YIN. How had she gotten out of her crib? Yes, I realize that she is 28 months and still in her crib, but we have never even had any break out attempts.

She said "mommy?", and she had one of her dolls. She then began to run back to her room to get her "pinking" (blanket). What am I going to do now? I am afraid to put her back in because the next breakout might not go as smooth. As she was laying in bed with me, I asked Yin how she got out and her reponse was "fall".

Any advise that doens't involve a straight jacket?

Asthma Stinks!

Here is Yin at her best...

And at her worst...

I feel so bad that she has to deal with this. UGH!

Sometimes when she has the mask on I want to do Vader phrases. "Yin, I am your mother!" "Use the force, Yin!"

Yin's new phrases are "minute" anytime you tell her you are going to do something or that something needs done she will say "minute". I guess I us that alot. Her other new phrase is to point at signs and she will say "say?" wanting to know what the sign says. She is really something!

Crappy Weekend OVER!

This weekend was horrible. I think that all of us were on edge and not really sure how to deal with each other. Yin must of been feeling our stress because she had about 10 meltdown tantrums on Saturday and then yesterday she went into one of her Asthma episodes. Today I am medicating and giving breathing treatments. I hope that she is better so we can go to KY in two weeks and Disney in three.

We did have a small amount of fun. Yuri's halloween costume came from KY and Rudy's cousin has a shop you can visit it at www.toyandgamecenter.com go there for all of your halloween needs.

So with out further ado... Yin is the little Darth Vader, but she WOULD NOT pose. Imagine That!

Do you or Don't You?

Today as Yin and I were on our way to Olney a funeral precession passed by. I carefully pulled to the side of the highway. I made sure to leave the entire lane because you just never know if someone will pull over. As I set there pondering the life and death of someone I did not know. A car full of young people went whizzing by.

It made me wonder when this tradition stopped. I looked ahead and a car was pulled over, and I looked behind and another car was pulled over. Is this something we just stopped doing? Do they not teach this to young drivers anymore? Are people just in too much of a hurry?

I have to admit that most of the time I am in a HURRY to get someplace. Yin and Yuri seem to be always making me run later than I want to go, but I have NEVER not pulled over for a funeral. I can remember going to the cemetery on the day we buried my gram. In the pouring down rain, and people were pulled over. Honoring her life and death. I see this small tradition as a way to honor and show courtesy for a person and their family.

So I guess my question is do you or don't you?

The Queen has spoken

Here name was Lola...

She was a show girl.

My mom got this for Yin at a local consignment shop. She loves it!
Our lovely girl.

Missing Teeth

Yuri has lost 4 teeth in three weeks. The tooth fairy is BROKE!
You can see that one of this big people teeth is coming in.

Where has all my teeth gone? This one is a little fuzzy.

Crochet Day

Yesterday I went to visit my best pal Mei Mei's mommy. We have been crocheting squares for a hat, scarf, and pull over for the girls.

I am very slow MMM is very fast. I made one square in the time that she made three. In my defense. I had one complete row? cicle? turn? done of the dark purple, but had made a mistake so I had to rip it out and start over! UGH!

Here are some pics if I can get them to load!

There's no place like home

Well Rudy left on Sunday for trainging in Arizona. It has been two days are we are ready for him to come home. I have not gotten to bed before 2Am and I sleep horribly. I keep hearing noises and there is no leg in the bed for me to rub my foot on. I am thinking of taking a tylenol PM, but they make me so groggy that I cannot wake up.

I have spoken with him several times. It is two hours earlier there. He said that it was 101 yesterday. When we travelled there last yer it was 113-116 each day. Man it was hot! I know the humidity is not the same, but 116 is still hot. The car was hot. Metal doors were hot. It was just hot. It was even to hot to swim. We would get in the pool at 8PM and swim. This was really odd becuase the sun doesn't go down until 10pm.

Rudy said that he is the only person taking his class. There are two guys in the class below him and two guys in the class above him. He stayed during his lunch today to try and get some one on one time with the instructor.

Last night I called and he was READING A BOOK. Yes! My Rudy! He is very smart, but in the time that we have been together 15 years this year. He has read only one or two books that were fiction. He is reading the Da Vinci Code. I read it and thought that it was good. I am not going to go into the whole thing about Jesus and Mary Magdeline becuase the book is FICTION regardless of what I believe or don't believe. I think that the fact that the author uses things we all know and have seen make the story better.

Today I took Yin and Yuri, along with the neighbor girls to the library. Yuri got all books on spaces, stars, suns and the like. Yin got a kids book on Korean Americans. Yuri asked why there was no book on Ukrainian Americans since there was an entire series of something American's there. I told him I wasn't sure, but if we look hard enough we could find some book on the Ukraine. He was not interested in trying to do that and said "I'll stick with the space books."

I checked out Dan Brown's Angel's & Demons (Da Vinci Code author), but right now I am reading book 3 of 4 of Lori Copeland's new "Men of the West?" or something like that series. I am going to finish those first. I don't want anything to exciting since I am the WORLDS BIGGEST CHICKEN!

-------------------------------------------------------

Tomorrow is Yuri first day of school. He will be in the second grade. I cannot believe how very fast this summer went. It feels like just yesterday he was crying because there was no more school. He is really ready to go back. He has been on the count down for the last month marking off each day and asking me about 100 times each day ... "How many more days until I go back to school?"

I am sure that Yin is really going to miss him. They play very well during the day, and he is such a help to me. The days go by really fast when he is here.

------------------------------------------------------
Better go Yin is sitting on top on Mr Fantastic (like Stretch Armstrong) and is pulling with all her might. I am not sure who is going to be the winner of this fight.

Happy Adoption Day Yin

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of Yin's adoption day. I cannot believe that one year ago we were in court, yet again, and testifying that we would love her, take care of her, and be a good mom and dad to her. I am sure that there are days when all of these were true and the other days...

Yin has really been a blessing in our lives. I love to see her sleep. She looks just like an angel and when she smiles it is contagious. She is learning new words each and every day. Ed just got a new dog Baxter. I sure love to hear her say "Baxer Baxer".

Her hair is getting long enough to wear in a pony tail and man does it make her look like a big girl. She is almost not a baby. Her feet are big and flat. She is able to run, jump, and CLIMB. She has a great sense of adventure and doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. She will almost always warm up to men before women. She likes to play with dolls, but she is happy to play in the gravel with trucks.

She still sleeps in a crib, drinks from a sippy cup, and she has just started to understand part of the potty thing. She will come to us and tell us "Wet", but that is only when she is very wet. She says things are pretty and knows lots of animal noises. She counts 1, 2, 5. She says many colors, but I am not sure if she knows what they are. She can name tons of people.

If you are squatted down working on something she will squat down beside you. It is the cutest thing. She loves to brush her teeth and take a bath. She hates to have her hair washed. She likes to go on bike rides. She will let Waylon run right up to her and lick her. She chases cats, but is always nice to them. She sings songs both on the radio, on TV (the Wiggles), and songs that are all her own. Her favorite song is you are my sunshine, and she will sing the last word of every line.

She has a pink blanket called pinkie "pinking" in Yin language. Okay, she actually has two because she cannot stand to part with one even for it to go into the wash. She will ask you to put her to bed when she is tired. She loves to unfold laundry. She like to play with pots and pans. She is a good eater, and she loves to drink juice. She likes "neen beans", mashed potato's and "high cream". She will say "oohh" (not in the good way) when you try to give her pickles, but she really likes them.

She can do all the motions to "Bears now alseep" by the Wiggles. She spanks her butt when she dances. She loves for you to chase her like a bear. She is learning to do a sommersault. She likes the insides of onion rings separate from the outside. She loves ketchup, butter, syrup, mustard, mayo... tartar sauce, french onion dip, vegetable dip and all things dipable.

She is all the things that I hoped for in a daughter and many of the things that I never dreamed that she would be. Her smiles and hugs can make any day brighter and her temper reminds me of someone else I know.

I have many spectacular hopes and dreams for my sweet Yin. I hope that she is happy. I hope she finds joy in the small things. I hope that she finds someone someday to share her life with. I hope that she never gives up her dreams. I hope that she is confident, assertive, and kind. I hope that she knows all the joy that she has brought to my life. I love you my little Yin - mommy

It's Hot Hot Hot

Tonight Rudy and I canned 13 more quarts of Salsa. We still have more tomatos in the fridge to can. I think that we are gonna just make diced tomatos. I think that he appreciates the salsa and tomato catsup? ketchup? even more. I am to tired to be spelling and grammatically correct.

Yuri is having his first friend sleep over. His friend "M" is the same age and these boys have been best friends since they were 3. They have their pallet all build and are snug as bugs in a rug!

My Rudy is leaving on Sunday and I am starting to get a belly ache with worry. I am afraid to be home by myself. I am afraid that the kids will drive me crazy. I know that it is a short trip! I am ready for the next week to be over. Lord send my Rudy home soon safe and sound!

My stinking counter went down on my Disney vacation. I am at a loss for how many more days I have. Stinking Counter!

Happy Pants Dance

Since I was complaining a few weeks ago about not knowing my size I went on ebay and have bought about 6 pair of the capris that I LOVE. I just won an auction for 3 pair for $7.00 with $10.00 to ship, but hey pants are heavy. Also they cost $32.00 each at the store. So all in all this is a savings, and I have several really nice pair of pants that I like.

Today was laundry day. Yuri and I worked and worked but finally got all of the clothes washed and put away. This week has been SLOW. I have not been outta my house all week. UGH. I have reduced my errands to once a week due to gas prices. Tonight Rudy picked up our supplies so I guess I'll be staying in tomorrow. I wish that I had something more exciting to write about, but my life is pretty boring.

In exciting dental news Yuri has lost three teeth in the last three weeks. One lower not front, one front top, and the one directly above the lower. He looks so VERY cute, but kinda snaggle toothie. The other front top and side tooth are very loose so before long. He will have none of the front four top teeth.

I have found a two new tv shows that I am really liking one is "DOG" The Bounty Hunter and the other is "Family Jewels". The first is like a more personal really exciting version of COPS, and the second is about Gene Simmons from KISS. They are both on A&E, and they are providing good summer entertainment.

Tonight as I put Yin to bed, I realized that she is the most beautiful girl in the world. She has a temper that someday someperson will dread, but *sigh* I love that kid!

Saucy Salsa & Disney DIning

We have several tomatos on our four tomato plants so I have decided to become productive and can some salsa.

On Monday I canned 11 quarts of salsa. I make my salsa out of the Mrs. Wages Salsa mix. It was really easy and Yuri helped. He was the official tomoto washer.

On Tuesday I had a neighbor bring me more tomatos so I decided to call Nene and get the recipe for Tomoto Catsup Relish? I have to admit that I do not care for this, but Rudy LOVES LOVES LOVES it so I thought that this would be a nice surprise. Nene gave me the receipe and then told me to make a few changes. I hope that she didn't Marie me. Remember the episode of Everbody love's Raymond where Debra got a "special" recipe and ingredients from Marie. Well Marie put a different label over one of the spices and it made Debra's treat horrible. Rudy and I laughed and laughed as I said I hope that Nene didn't Marie me.

Hopefully he can find something besides beans to eat it on. I HATE BEANS!! YUCK!!!

(tried to add cinderella's castle here, but no luck)

Today we recieved our speical tags from Disney for our luggage. This is an awesome FREE perk this year. You place the special label on your luggage and they will go to baggage claim and find it for you and transport in directly to your hotel room. All we have to do is get off the plane and go to the air conditioned bus. It is like a GreyHound bus.

After our trip we can check our luggage at the hotel and print our boarding passes there. So no waiting in line with two tired kids (okay three if you count Rudy) at 5 am to return home. I have to admit that I am very excited about this trip. I cannot wait to see Yuri and Yin's faces when they see Cinderella's castle and a character for the first time.

In eating news we are having four, yes four, character meals.

On Saturday, we are having a Character late lunch early supper at the CRYSTAL PALACE in Magic Kingdom with Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore the cost for this is $23.00 for adults, and $11.00 for kids. Yin eats free.

On Monday, we are eating our anniversary supper at the Garden Grill Restaurant. This is a really cool restaurant that turns. The entire restaurant turns so the scenery is always changings. It is located in Epcot with Mickey, Chip, Dale and Pluto. The cost is $25.00 for adults and $11.00 for kids. Yin eats Free

On Tuesday ,we are eating at the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. This is a princess meal. Do not tell Yuri. It is located in Norway inside of Epcot. We will eat with Snow White, Belle, Mulan, Jasmine etc. everyone except Cinderella. The cost is $28.00 for adults and $13.00 for kids. Yin eats Free.

On Wednesday, we are eating at the Donald's Breakfastosaurus. We will eat with Donald, Mickey, and Goofy. The theme here is dinosaurs and it is located in the Animal Kingdom. The cost is $18.00 for adults and $10.00 for kids. Yin as always eats for free.

We are eating at the Sci-Fi Diner and the 50's Cafe located at MGM. I have read the three books that I have on Disney and these character meals seem to have as good of choices as many other restaurants. There are one or two really really nice places but we would have to use two of our meal tokens to eat there. I just can't see wasting an entire meal to eat fancy fancy.

Total character meal costs $233.00 plus tip. Yikes! Our Cost FREE FREE FREE. I am SO glad that one of my Yahoo group people pointed out that Disney was having free dining with our package all you had to do was ask for it!!!

We will also get a free "lunch" type meal each day and a free "snack". Hopefully we can work it with these two meals and a snack so that we don't have to buy any food. Did I mention I CAN"T WAIT TO GO!!!

When You're Hot You're Hot...

And when you not... Well you get the idea!

I know no pics of the kids, but really celebrities should try this look. It is the night gown with sequined bib, accompanied by the life jacket and high heeled sequined shoes, followed up with a feather boa, and Bass Pro hat complete with sunglasses, oven mit, wings, and cell phone.

And for the close up look...

Okay to all Yin's fans she just wants to be left alone to live her life in peace. She says that it is really hard just being famous and since Ragged has been trying to steal her pirate hooker look. She wanted to put something more origianl out there.

Seroiously, I love this kid! Dress up is a blast.

Giggling in Bed

Yin and Yuri are both really good about going to bed. Yuri will often ask to be put to bed and Yin is starting to do the same thing. This is ever parents dream. Each night we have a little ritual with Yuri and for Yin. We will carry her to bed and then start her Baby Mozart (BEST GIFT EVER from Pilot and Needles). We will sing "Jesus loves Me" to her and then tell her we love her and walk outta the room. Most nights she will lay in there and sing. I love to hear my baby singing. If you have ever heard her version of "You are my Sunshine", you will be one of the luckiest people ever.

The last few nights we have heard her in a fit of giggles? What is so funny? Is she understanding something new in her little mind? I am not sure, but Rudy and I love to turn the TV down and listen to her giggle and try to figure out why...

In other news people I know are getting their China referrals. MeiMei's mommy and daddy are still waiting. China has really slowed down. I still love to look at the new faces each month. For a listing and baby faces go here /http://chinaadopttalk.com/ and look under Babies, Babies, Babies...
